The burial mass was held publicly in the same church where the couple got married 21 years ago and was televised live across Canada and streamed online for the singer's fans around the world.
Celion Dion dressed entirely in black and wearing a veil, entered the church, holding the hands of her five-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy.
Dion did not speak publicly at the funeral, but her son Rene-Charles delivered a touching eulogy:
"Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father. You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker and smoked meat," he said, sharing a quick laugh with his mother who looked on from the front pew.
"You left me now with enough good memories to share with my younger brothers... I'll make sure to pass on what I learned from you," he continued.
"I love you, Dad."
