Nnamdi Kanu send to prison by the federal high court...

A Federal High Court in Abuja ordered that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, be kept in prison. Justice John Itsoho gave the order today. He adjourned the case till January 25.
Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the DSS, since October 14, 2015  was arraigned along with Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, on treason charges and other offenses bordering on his agitation for the secession of the Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.
While ordering the remand of the accused in prison, the judge overruled a request by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr.
Mohammed Diri, for an order further remanding the accused persons in the custody of the DSS.
This ruling came as a relief to the defence team, led by Mr. Chuks Mouoma SAN, who had complained that the accused persons had been denied access to their families and lawyers since their arrest.
