The Kano State government has announced the killing of a notorious cattle rustling kingpin in the state.
The state government said the rustling kingpin, Umar Dogo, is a citizen of Senegal.
Speaking in Kano Government House, Monday, Governor Umar Ganduje said the joint security taskforce succeeded in killing the kingpin after gun duel.
Mr. Ganduje noted that Mr. Dogo was killed alongside three others, and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the rustling ring.
He also disclosed the recovery of a total 2,133 cows and over 100 goats.
The governor therefore expressed hope that the killing of Mr. Dogo alongside members of his gang would bring to an end the acts of banditry and rustling in the state.
He said the anti-rustling operation in Falgore Forest was now a daily affair until they rid the state of rustlers.
