Senate President Saraki Bukola trial at the CCT adjourned to Nov 19th

The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Nigeria's capital city Abuja has rejected Senate President Bukola Saraki's request for stay of proceedings, ruling that the hearing must continue.
Saraki's lawyers staged a walk out as they rejected the ruling, describing it as judicial rascality.
Saraki had requested for one month but the prosecution counsel objected saying the Senate President is seeing an escape route.
He had to resort to defending himself without lawyers after his legal team exited the court,
The case has been adjourned to November 19, with Justice Danladi Umar saying Saraki's legal team disrespected the court.
Saraki is being tried on a 13 count charge bordering on alleged false declaration of assets. The Senate President has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The trial was adjourned last month to enable the Court of Appeal deliver its judgement on the suit challenging the eligibility of the CCT to try Saraki.
